In 19th century Philippine nationalism was born, people of the nation become united and work together as one for their common aims.

But what do we mean by nationalism? Nationalism means devotion for one’s country to give more importance to unity by way of a cultural background, traditions, religions, beliefs, and even the unity or togetherness of the people a patriotic feeling, one belief defended it against other country. it is the patriotic feeling that you are proud to your country no matter what. It is also the reason why Filipino failed against Spaniards absence of nationalism and patriotism. Nationalism and patriotism both show the relationship of an individual towards his or her nation. A wide distinction of this two, nationalism this implies the heartfelt dedication for the love, care, and preservation of the Philippines while on the other hand Patriotism pertains to the love of our nation with more emphasis on values and beliefs.

The two are often confused and frequently believed to mean the same thing literally patriotism comes from a Latin word” pater” which means “father” it is the willingness and determination resolve to sacrifice one love for the country in other words to be patriotic it is to be nationalistic. One cannot be patriotic without being nationalistic. one of the famous poet’s name Rabindranath Tagore call him self a Patriot according to him Patriot love his own country but does not hate the people of others country. a nationalist maybe narrow minded he or she may think terms of its country and hate all those who are not his countrymen. Do you consider yourself a patriot or nationalist? This is the facts nowadays Filipinos are not that much patriotic some tends to migrate to some place because care about more their families than our nation. Witch is they have reason why they done that Philippines can’t afford to pay their workers a lot of money due to their economic problems.

Also, the diffusion of cultures, values, and confluence of historical bad governance. The Philippine statemen needed to understand the basics of politics define as the systematic study of state. Remember as long as our political leader blind us of these things for as long as the Filipino people refuse to learn, for as long as we remain unexceptional for as long as we could not change our self within, for as long as we refuse to change nationalism and patriotism would not be recognized a word.
