•Carole Ames and Jennifer Archer wanted to know how motivation and achieving goals in a classroom environment are linked together, by doing a study. •They conducted this study by selecting random students. A total of one-hundred and seventy-six students from different levels of education, some were high schoolers and others were juniors.
•They were asked to complete a survey on their opinions on the classroom objective, how they use their learning strategies in certain tasks, and their attitude. •The results showed that students who were willing to accomplish difficult tasks had positive attitudes with their peers in class, and were confident about achieving their goals. •The results of the other students showed that they were focused on the abilities that they already know which gave a negative result on their attitude since they were afraid to risk taking challenging tasks
