Marriage is for a man and a woman
Marriage is defined as a union of man and woman and to change that would conflict with the natural law and erode both the institution of marriage and the family’s job of holding the society together. There are considerate organizations accessible for gays but marriage is out of line. In the french context, The changes in the law will eliminate the terms “mother and father” which will weaken the rights of heterosexual families.
Children need both a mother and a father
In a normal family setting a child is raised by a mother and a father but with same sex marriage that wont happen and if they adopt, the child is more likely to be confused about the gender roles in the society because of his/her upbringing and might be bullied in school because of having the same sex parents because it is not a usual family setting.
Gay marriage is contrary to the word of god
According to the bible the man and woman is the key ingredient in order to have a marriage and same sex marriage is contrary to the word of god in all aspects. And to legalize the same sex marriage would offend religious groups all around the world. In the bible it is clear that a man is meant to be with a woman and vice versa and never a man to a man or a woman to a woman.
Synthesis of the arguments
Same sex marriage is a huge contrary to the idea of “marriage” because it is universally defined as a union of a man and woman and never a union of the same sex. Same sex relationships can happen but it should not come to the point where in marriage is involved because it is a sacred step in building a family. And in order to build a family, a man and woman are needed to produce an offspring.
