Euro Disney was opened its doors to the European public in April 1992 which was located 20 miles from Paris. This specific location was selected over 200 potential sites in. Euro Disney was designed to be the biggest and most deluxe theme park that Walt Disney Company (Disney) had built.

In the effort of bringing in Euro Disney to Paris, much to Disney management’s surprise, they failed. Having successfully opened parks in California, Florida and Tokyo, it only seemed logical to open one in Europe. Euro Disney first year of operation was faced with several factors in which hindered their financial growth and success in the first year of operation. Many factors contributed to Euro Disney’s poor performance during its first few year of operation and many of these factors could have been alleviated if the proper factors would have been looked at previously. Financial losses became so massive at Euro Disney that the president had to structure a rescue package to put Euro Disney back on firm financial ground.

Disney management rapidly revised their marketing plan and introduced strategic and tactical changes in the hope of doing it right this time Although Disneyland Paris has its good years and its bad years as far as profits are concerned, it is today a successful complex that ranks as the top European tourist destination, boasting 14.5 million visitors in 2007. In 2008 it was again the most visited attraction in Europe, receiving more visitors than the Louvre and Eiffel Tower combined. It most recently recorded its 250-millionth visitor.
