Cady altered her personality and behavior to fit in with Regina and Co. Although it originally started off as a plan to get revenge on Regina, she eventually grew into the role, not realizing it.
One may argue that the people around you and the relationships you have with them do not have any effect on you. Mean Girls showed this. The relationships you have with others can influence you. Even if they do not end greatly or are not the happiest things, they will end up leaving you with a lesson you will learn from. There’s a reason you hear people telling you to be mindful of who you surround yourself with.
