Each restaurant has advantages and disadvantages over the other. Both also have common ground. The name Chick-Fil-A itself means grade A quality. The names source derives from Chicken Fillet. The “A” added in the end symbolizes the “A+” grade used in schools, good meat quality, and all good ratings.

The fast food restaurant chain has a very common slogan which states “Eat Mor Chikin” usually with cows holding the sign. This restaurant was founded in Georgia in 1946, by Truett Cathy. Most of their restaurants are a family friendly environment equipped with a indoor playground and plenty of seating for different events. Chick-Fil-A also caters to organizations and holds plenty of fundraisers a year.

Other than dairy products such as their dreamcones and milkshakes, Chick-Fil-A’s menu consists of mostly chicken products. The restaurant known commonly as “Cookout” was established in Greensboro, NC by Morris Reaves in 1989. They have a “fresh, never frozen” beef policy. Their company mission is “To serve customers the highest quality food in the least amount of time in a professional well run way, overall to be the best in the QSR business.” Being that most of their locations are double drive-thru facilities with no customer indoor luxuries their mission was put in full effect with these restaurant designs. Cookout and Chick-Fil-A both have their good and bad qualities.

Whereas Chick-Fil-A has healthy fruit options Cookout does not have the same wide selection of healthy foods. The only vegetables served at Cookout are the toppings for your burger. Although Cookout’s chicken and burgers are prepared on a real grill just like Chick-Fil-A’s their products are nowhere near as healthy. Most of Cookout restaurants are outside based seating areas. They have benches, outside tables, chairs, and umbrellas.

Some of their locations are inside based seating also but it would be kind of rare to find an indoor Cookout. There are certain hazards going towards the outdoor seating aspect. These types of locations are not typically family oriented. There can be scenarios where a child can run out in front of a car going through the drive-thru whereas being inside a building, that wouldn’t be much of a concern.

Many of the Chick-Fil-A locations have outdoor seating but it it mostly excluded from the driving areas. CookOut has more of a variety of food for lower costs than Chick-Fil-A. A five piece nugget at CookOut is only $0.99 whereas at Chick-Fil-A eight nuggets will be $3.05. Being that Chick-Fil-A operates their company through Southern Baptists beliefs they are closed Sundays and major holidays.

Cookout is open everyday from 10:30am-12am. Chick-Fil-A is only open from 6:30am-10pm Mon-Fri and 6:30am-11pm on Saturdays. There are many topics of discussion when it comes to restaurants. Research can solely be based on the menu, the prices, the customer service, the design of the restaurant, how much the establishment is involved in the community, the quality of the food, how much the establishment makes a year, etc. With each topic of discussion there are always at least two sides of the story the winner is usually the one that relays the facts better.
