Motivation is the process by which a person’s efforts are energized, directed, and sustained towards attaining a goal. There are two categories of motivation theories which are content theories and process theories. The content theory focuses on the reasons for changing the human needs frequently and it explains the specific factors that motivate people.
While, the process theory focuses on the processes which affect motivation, with regard to the expectations, goals, and perceptions of equity. However, the reward system is attract people to continue The literature on reward systems has broadened its scope to include nonfinancial rewards, as these are also important to direct and shape desired behaviors (Chiang and Birtch,2007).
