As students of Eastern Samar National Comprehensive High School (ESNCHS) and as students requesting the DOST – PSTC office to allow us to conduct our data gathering as well as immerse ourselves to the work that they do at the DOST – PSTC office, we must conduct ourselves in an orderly manner.
We must properly represent our school showing disciple, intelligence, and enthusiasm when it comes to work. Neatness in every task that we are to accomplish must be observed, for us to show that we do our work with skill and finesse. As DOST – PSTC is a scientific government institution, we should display an attitude towards work that is similar to a scientist conducting his lab tests. Time management, Diligence, Resourcefulness, Cleverness and Intelligence, should be shown during the span of the immersion.
As ESNCHS is a high school under the government, we must display the 4 core values aspired by the Department of Education (DepEd), First is MAKA-DIYOS, meaning we are to show that we are God fearing students of our respective school. Second is MAKATAO, we are to display comradery and team work with each other, for we are human and must display moral human behavior such as empathy, benevolence, deferential attitude in every interaction we have with other human beings. Then MAKAKALIKASAN, as students residing on a planet that we must care for, we must observe proper cleanliness and show that we care for our environment, proper disposal of wastes and avoidance on purchasing plastic materials/products can go a long way. Lastly, MAKABANSA, as citizens under the Philippine we must show love for our country as well as countrymen. Aside from the Core Values, The DepEd also gives students a Mission and Vision, to help us understand what the government wishes to achieve when it comes to molding its future stakeholders. We are to also protect and promote fair treatment to the right of every Filipino no matter what differences we are to have with other Filipinos.
Religion, Gender, Sex, Race and other affiliation possible affiliations, will not hamper a Filipino’s rights. The Teachers are tasked to provide students with knowledge not just for the mind and as for the soul. Administrators and Staff, as stewards of the School/Institution, they are to ensure that we, the students, are provided an enabling, clean, safe, supportive, and motivating environment. We, as representatives of a public institution, should uphold and display the desired values of our school. To have been given the chance to immerse ourselves in the DOST – PSTC office, must not go to waste. Maintaining the good first impressions and changing the non-desired attitudes and morals, in order to show this office that students of ESNCHS are indeed part of this country’s bright future.
