Play and leisure helps contribute to children’s development because allowing children to have leisure time with their peers help them develop self-awareness and self-respect towards other children and helps them realise you have to share toys and be kind towards others. Play also helps improve and maintain their physical and mental health during interaction with people. Doing activities such as creative play or physical activities makes each child encourage their inner imagination to come out and independence to be more challenging within themselves. Becoming independent and challenging within activities or social experiences also supports children’s opportunities for social skills to develop and problem solving to become less of a task in events, play time can give them an opportunity to mix with other children as well giving other children independence and encouragement to do activities.
