Probably everyone in his life has ever heard or even seen such a phenomenon as a solar eclipse. And did you ask yourself the question, where does it come from, what are the reasons for its occurrence, in general, what is this phenomenon of nature? The first such phenomena were noticed by mankind in the very antiquity. Previously, people at the sight of a solar eclipse were lost and felt a wild terror before this mysterious phenomenon. As a rule, among ordinary people there was an opinion that at that moment some terrible dragon was trying to destroy the sun and it must be protected. Since the solar eclipse does not last long, the plan of local residents has always worked. They armed themselves with military weapons and went to the “war”, after the streets became brighter, people returned to their homes calm and contented that they drove away the evil spirits and saved the sun. It is also known that the first ever eclipse in history was during the reign of Chung-Kang, the fourth emperor of the Hen dynasty.
It is to this period that a recording is recorded in one of the books of ancient China – “Shujin” (“The Book of History”). The date of the solar eclipse was established only in the nineteenth century – October 22, 2137 BC. e. By the way, every solar eclipse is in one way or another connected with historical events. So, it happened on August 3, 431 BC.e.

The frequency of a solar eclipse, as a rule, is 2-5 eclipses per year.
And not always all these phenomena will be a total solar eclipse. Astrologers predict that the longest total solar eclipse will occur on July 16, 2186, and its time will be 7 minutes and 29 seconds. The shadow of the Earth falls on the moon, and it disappears from the horizon. This is a lunar eclipse. Eclipses happen because celestial bodies constantly change their location. The Earth rotates around the Sun, and the Moon revolves around the Earth.
Both these processes occur simultaneously. If for a few minutes the Moon, the Earth and the Sun are on the same line, the eclipse begins. A total solar eclipse is a very rare and dramatic event. During a total solar eclipse, one gets the impression that some huge monster loses the Sun after the piece.
When the Sun disappears, the sky becomes dark and the stars are visible in the sky. The air is rapidly cooling down. Soon, from the sun, there is nothing left but a thin glowing ring, as if hanging in the sky, we see that part of the flaming solar corona.
