Promote improvements to address gaps or shortfalls in systems and processes Following evaluation, any issues or concerns raised are discussed as to what action (if any) is required, who is responsible for the action and the timescale.
It is equally important to involve all stakeholders in this process as, again, this leads to ownership, responsibility and motivated individuals and team. Some issues may require immediate action to be taken, such as adult protection issues in the case of suspected abuse, but some issues may require a longer process, such as changing a policy, or educating through discussion or training. Regardless of the issue, this information should be shared with line management. My workplace is part of a larger service, and as such it should not work in isolation, but share practices so that any improvements or changes in practices can be shared throughout the wider workplace.
Evaluation should be regular and constant, as needs, practices and policies constantly change.
