The taxes that are collected get funneled into benefits for residents such as paying very low per capita taxes. The comparative tax burden for a family of three with an income under $75K ranks Las Vegas 49th out of 51 selected metropolitan areas in the United States(Nevada Resorts), lowered property taxes are ranked in the top 5 for nation and more then one third of all revenue for education is collected from Nevada’s gaming tax. The infrastructure of Nevada is directly driven by the lucrative nature that comes with a casino.
It would be implied that Casinos would hold the top 3 spots for job employment although that’s not the case the top 3 spots are held by Clark County School District, Washoe County School District, and Clark County Local Government. It is easy to say that all casinos come with a lot of perks however, the other side to this story is yet to be told. Casinos do and always will generate revenue with this comes negative side effects including the consuming on public services, like sewers and road maintenance, and the costs of increased crime prevention in casino neighborhoods and even in surrounding communities.
