My warmest greetings to the respected sir/ma’am reading this. I am Thrupthi P K pursuing B.COM in SDM College of Business Management, India. I am writing this personal statement in the hope of pursuing masters in accounting and finance at your reputed university. I completed my schooling in Canara Girls High School and I scored 89% in my 10th standard.
Growing up I always accompanied my father to his workplace and assisted him with basic accounting and related issues. In fact my basic knowledge of accounts was taught by my father which fascinated me to study more on the subject and that is why after my 10th standard I decided to take up commerce. I completed my pre-university in Canara pre-university college, with basic math as my core subject along with accounts, statistics and business and scored 89% in my board exams. As numbers always fascinated me, my interest in accounting grew over the years. Hence after my 12th I pursued my bachelors of commerce degree from one of the reputed colleges in Mangalore, SDM College of business management.
I participated in various management fests held in our college. In high school, apart from academics I also took part in various dance and sports competitions. I have appeared for drawing examination and cleared with distinction on both district and state level. I have also cleared my junior exam in classical music.
Accounting and finance is very important as it plays major role in every organisation. The key functioning of any organisation depends on the finances available and how they manage it for smooth functioning in today’s ever growing and changing market conditions. These days, companies of all shapes and sizes are examined with regard to their financial activities. It is for this reason that qualified accountancy professionals are in extremely high demand in almost all the sectors in any organisation. A degree in accounting and finance develops skills that are useful in range of sectors.
This course will help me find jobs such as chartered accountant, chartered certified accountant, chartered management accountant etc. which will help me reach my ultimate goal in life. Born and brought up in India I always wanted to study in the UK. Though there are good colleges in India, education in UK is known for its quality and also its international rankings of education.
UK is also known for its flexibility of courses available and its great culture as well. Going through the course details, I found that this programme is tailor-made for me as it perfectly caters to my interests. If given the chance to study in UK it will not only make my dream come true but also provide me with an international exposure that will help me to sustain better in today’s competitive market condition. Moreover, this university is well-known not only in the UK but it is considered as one of the best throughout the world. As I already mentioned that it is my dream to get into the corporate world and work in the accounting and finance sector, I will work really hard towards my grades and to achieve my goals.
My ultimate aim in life is to achieve something great and to be able to give back to the society. After the completion of my course I would like to come back to India for job and I will make the best of my knowledge and experiences learnt at your esteemed university. Hence I write this letter hoping that you would provide me an opportunity to study at your respected university. Thank you for your time and consideration.
