Tarkovsky’s first movie was Ivan’s Childhood which made a movie in 1962. That’s why the movie has black and white colors. This movie is about Ivan who is an orphaned Russian teen who is driven to scout for his country during World War 2.
In my opinion, this movie is so overrated. I did not like this movie that much because the whole story is not worth to watch. The thing I complained about mostly during the movie is Characters/Actors. They all have perfect faces and haircuts.every character looks like a fashion model, it’s kind of irony.
We shouldn’t have seen that all these cute and pretty actors in a war film. It does not any make sense. I realized that some of actors looked at the camera directly for a couple of times although it did not disturb me much. Still the actors should have performed professionally. In this movie, I cannot say that all actors were very natural and professional. If I need to give a positive opinion about the movie.
It would be Ivan, our hero. The reason is that he had given both the adult soldier role and a simple child role very perfectly. I did not like the movie anyway although the last scene was very touchy. Still it was not enough for me.
