The role of the induction process in supporting others to understand the values and agreed ways of working within the work setting are to make sure that the individual understands what is expected of them during a working day. When a new member of staff starts at Mayfield we have a “bubby system” where the individual is supported by another member of staff to learn the ropes of the job role they have been took on to do. The member of staff will become there “buddy” until they feel comfortable that they can complete the tasks that is expected of them on their own. The individual will be supported throughout the probationary period to ensure that they are happy with how the role is any anything they would need to help them to pass the probationary period.
