The Sabba’s article clearly depicts the relative importance of Project manager’s skills for all the sectors. In every sector Human and Conceptual and organizing skills scored higher than technical skills. The role of project managers is to communicate with teams, decision making, planning, organizing, executing, controlling, problem-solving etc.
They need an extensive cross-functional experience. They perform the managerial tasks of the project rather than performing technical duties of the project. Project Managers require the minimum or basic understanding of technical skills. This assists to drive the communication to business and clients.
However, it is not mandatory to have the complete knowledge on usage of tools, technologies, methods, and processes. Hence, most of the project managers rated low for technical skills as it is unusual for them to have all the technical skills that are used in their project.
