The sustainable development goals are 17 goals set by the United Nations general assembly on September 25th, 2015. On this day countries adopted a set of goals to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure prosperity for all as part of a new sustainable development agenda. They address various global challenges we face, including issues such as inequality, climate, environmental degradation, poverty, prosperity peace and justice. And each goal has specific targets to be achieved over the next 15 years (by 2030).(***) Below will explain briefly, the meaning and targets of each goal.

The first goal is to end all poverty in all its forms everywhere. More than 783 million people live below the international poverty line of US $1.90 a day. (***) The goal is to ensure that all people, have equal rights to economic resources, as well as access to basic services, respecting worker and migrant rights, implementing a zero-tolerance policy for forced labor and child labor, and paying a living wage. (***) Zero hunger. They want to end hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture.

One in nine people in the world today, are undernourished and most of the world’s hungry people live in developing countries, where 12.9 per cent of the population is undernourished. They receive unequal pay for equal work, and they continue to be targets of physical and sexual abuse, providing people with equal access to things such as education, health care, work and representation, will fuel sustainable economies and benefit society and the world.(***) Clean water and sanitization, this is to ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all. By 2030, the goal wants to achieve universal and equitable access to safe and affordable drinking water for all.(***) Affordable and clean energy. To establish access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all. There is a responsibility with all businesses to care for the climate and foster plans for the generation and use of sustainable energy sources.
