This essay focuses on, does media violence cause behavior violence. Media violence is an exposure to violence through media, which includes television, movies, music, and video games etc.

The Myth of Violence seeks to expand the conversation about media violence beyond simple arguments of disapproval or support. According to research and survey media violence does cause behavior violence. Many suggest the violence in media is not from the media, it is from the society/culture as well. The violence that is occurring is actually due from the mentally ill, poor parenting and the location/environment where one lives. As said children mostly imitate the parents and their surrounding, but still most of the parents expose children toward media and that also has a lot of impact on their actions.

According to some of the recourses and research the exposure of media, television, newspaper, books, cartoon and games are the causes of aggression and violence in behavior in today’s generation, but media violence can not only be television or the above that mentioned it can also be gossip that moves from one person to a group of people that is also a form of media, acts of violence that creates violence behavior without knowing the truth or the outcome of it. Violence has always played a huge role in the media, its everywhere around the world, this essay will support that media have input to violence behavior in our society, there have been arguments upon arguments about media a number of people agree and some disagree to it, and over 3000 studies conduct, unfortunately there isn’t one single result, there is only an array of supposed answers to this questions. Evidence for supporting the essay on agreeing that media violence does cause aggression and violence behavior, a research was done to support this essay that violent behavior is contributed by media violence. Television and video violence, impact of television programs, particularly on children. Of special concern has been the exposé of violence, mainly given psychologist Albert Bandura’s work in the 1970s on social learning and the tendency of children to imitate what they observe. In today’s world most of the parents expose children to the media in an early age, children in their early age observes more and try to be like what they see(duplicate).

Research shows psychologists L. Rowell Huesmann, Leonard Eron and others starting in the 1980s found that children who watched many hours of violence on television when they were in elementary school tended to show higher levels of aggressive behavior when they became teenagers. By observing these participants into adulthood, Huesmann and Eron found that the ones who’d watched a lot of TV violence when they are in their early age were more likely to cause violence behavior that later would cause children to turn out to be against the law. Other research has found that exposure to media violence can make somebody less responsive to an overwhelming fear by repeated exposure to the feared situation or object; either in natural or artificial circumstances, watching violence in the media becomes enjoyable and does not result in the anxious stimulation that would be expected from seeing such imagery.
