This would entail the role of the Government throughout the UK and the local Government which for my school would be Cornwall Council. The national Government have set responsibilities which are: o Teaching and learning for children in the early years/primary schools. o Teaching and learning for young adults under the age of 19 in secondary schools and in further education. o To support those that work with children and young people.
o To help disadvantaged children and young people strive further and achieve more. o Ensuring local services protect and support the children and young people. For the local Government it so that they can improve the Cornwall based schools and that they are trying to not only follow the national Governments procedures but also have their own that tie in more with the surrounding areas however they are keeping up with the changes being made – for example it’s expected that by the end of 2022 the Government want all schools to become academies and a majority of Cornwall based secondary schools are already academies. They are also there to provide certain services to the school for support and ensure that each school is following correct: o Staff training o SEN programme/needs o Curriculum o Behavioural issues o School management o School policies
