User needs such as purposive value, self-discovery, entertainment value, social enhancement, and maintaining interpersonal connectivity that are adopted to determine the use of particular media platform (Cheung & Lee, 2009).

Uses and Gratification theory is focusing on why people actively look for specific media to satisfy their needs and what do people do with the media.
