When it comes to correction facilities, we often think of a place where bad people end up that broke the law. It is a place that we were always told that is a place that you never want to end up, but this all is true corrections houses many inmates that committed different types of crimes. Accordingly, the term “correctional facility,” has become the substitute to “penal institution.” If the term “corrections” seems broad it’s because the correctional system is responsible for overseeing a wide array of programs- far more than what it is usually given credit for. If you ask most people about the role of the U.S. Correctional System, most would say that it is responsible for monitoring inmates in prison, would not recognize that it also handles offenders who are conditionally released, as well as those who are merely issued penalties that do not require imprisonment but who still require legally prescribed supervision AAAAAAA. The correction system rests under incarceration by law, holding criminals that broke the law into correctional facilities. Inmates are housed within jails and prisons that are incarcerated.
Criminals that are in jail are suspected offenders who are waiting for their trail date or sentencing. Making these criminals not guilty of a crime, but most that are booked into the jail are not found guilty or released the next day or following week. Although, prisons houses those criminals that are convicted felons. Prison is established is maintained for both punishment and to reform.
Prison is also the type of institution that holds security classifications from maximum security to minimum security, which shows the seriousness of convicted felons crimes that were committed ranging from murder, rape, kidnapping, theft etc. Correction System Trends Centuries ago, before there were jails and prisons the punishment of crime was very violent and despicable. The types of punishment that were allowed in the past, involved criminals being the victim of beatings, lynching’s, public embarrassment, dismembering etc. In the present, none of this type of punishment is not allowed anymore.
