I have four identical brothers. I don’t get out as much as them. While the four of them go around, I sleep quietly, in the dark. I am often forgotten about, But in times of trouble I will be woken and call upon and I will save the day. (Five brothers). What am I, I am a tire. This banned book by George Orwell called Animal Farm. It has a set of a farm in England. The genre of this book is historical fiction/fantasy. It is historical fiction because in this novel it has historical events like the Russian Revolution. It also had talking animals in the book like with the pig, which is an example of personification. This means it is a fantasy book too because of the talking animals. However, the time, location, and events in this novel relate to the Russian Revolution.

During the revolution time, Russia had a major period of Russian political situations. In this book, it shows a real act of leadership. Mostly in this novel, it has an amount of satire and is a dystopian novel. Satire means sarcasm directed from events that take place in the world. Dystopian means relating to an imagined state or society where there is great suffering or injustice. Achievements of leadership in this novel were in multiple characters. The author showed this in two specific characters Snowball and Napoleon. Napoleon was portrayed as the head animal in charge of the farm. It makes it seems like the author wants to prove that a leader can be anyone no matter what they are, animal or human. Napoleon also uses this one phrase a lot that really proves leadership. His motto is “I will work harder”, this really represents leadership because to be a leader you have to keep moving forward and never give up even if things get tough or dangerous. There is a lot of satire in this novel. In the novel, there are many examples. Each character in this novel is a satire of a person that was associated with the Russian Revolution.

For example snowball, he was a satire of the Soviet Communist Party as if Napoleon the leader was a satire of Joseph Stalin. Another example is Boxer the cart-horse which represents the betrayed workers. Also, there is a Man vs. Man conflict in this novel by snowball and Napoleon. As Napoleon comes into power, Snowball finds it hard to agree with Napoleon on his decisions. So Napoleon wasn’t having the disagreement, so he felt the need to run Snowball off the farm. Another conflict is when Boxer worries about the farm. He worries because Napoleon starts going crazy and killing other animals so boxer takes all pitty on himself. In reference to animal farm, it is banned in different places such as Kenya and The Allied Forces.

In Kenya, its banned because in Kenya because it criticizes corrupt leader. As in allied forces, there was a different reason which was because it was too controversial to print during wartime. In most cases, this novel was banned because of the main topic in this novel really because of what the book refrence to. This story in my personal opioion I think its an good thing that it is banned because of the content. In conclusion, animal farm gives you an good mind set of leadership that sometimes errors
