Tiriti o Waitangi, also known as The Treaty of Waitangi, was a great endeavour to put both Maori and British fueds to an end.
This legendary treaty, has served New Zealand well, keeping peace amongst us and respect towards our ancestors. Over seventy eight years ago, it started its journey across New Zealand.On the 6th of February 1840, representatives of the British Crown and M?ori chiefs signed The Treaty of Waitangi, for the greater of good. The Treaty of Waitangi is New Zealand’s founding document. It’s name is from the place it originated, Waitangi, The Bay of Islands, New Zealand. The Treaty is an official agreement between M?ori and English, that was created by the British Crown and approximately 550 M?ori chiefs.
