Bullying is when someone repeatedly acts or says things to have power over another person. Bullies may be specified as endangered species who make insult of others for their own fun and mainly use a combination of intimidation and humiliation to torment others on purpose. The bully role is divide into ringleader who is leads the bullying, assistant and reinforcer who is laughs or encourages the bullying and also the victim. Although life is a journey and a tough fight, but remember not everyone is a fighter. Bullying can occur in any situations including in school or university, the workplace, neighbourhood, and between countries.

Recently, bullying is a very popular disease among the school students. The whole nation are concern and aware of this matter and study on how common of students were bullied in schools reveals that almost 80% of primary school students have been bullied, and the majority happen in the classroom (Unicef Malaysia communications, 2007). Kids who bully usually use their power such as physical strength, access to embracing information or popularity to control or harm others. This behaviours can happen more than once or have the potential to happen more than once since bullies seem have fun. So, bullying is very negative things and had create major problems for our society. Besides that, nothing good comes out of bullying and it could change or ruin a person’s life.

For instance, kids also can be mentally scarred if they are teased often and if the situation become worse, they could be killed or fatally injured if the bullying gets extreme. As Meyer-Adams ; Conner (2008) assert, “Bullying is continued harassment though acts of domination towards another person, either through physical or emotional abuse”. Furthermore, by the recent technological developments, bullying can be done online and through social media platforms such as Instagram, Wechat, Facebook and Whatsapps. Figure 1 shows data prevalence of bullying and cyberbullying among students as reported by the School Crime Supplement of the National Crime Victimization Survey. Figure 1 There several causes of bullying, in the first cause of bullying is revenge for being victims of bullying. Some people may feel that their parents or their older sibling are bullying them.

As a result of this feeling, these victims bully others as a way of seeking to be equal. According to Mark ; Ratliffe (2011), “Getting bullied by any of these people may tempt some to claim a sort of authority for themselves through bullying, rather than reaching out for help in dealing with their own issues in a more productive way.” The same case happens like cyber bullying occasions. They want others to feel what they have felt and feel justified in doing so. By cyberbullying others, they also may feel a sense of relief and vindication for what they experienced. These kids will sometimes even go after the bully directly.

Other times, they will target someone whom they perceive to be weaker or more vulnerable than them. They feel justified in their actions because they too have been harassed and tormented. Additionally, “Cyber bullying can be an extension of real world bullying too, for example, hacking into a social media account in order to display negative rumors about another person” (Hoff ; Mitchell, 2009). Moreover, the second cause of bullying is jealousy or frustration toward the victim.

When an individual becomes the smart one in class or other places such as getting good grades always or becoming the centre of attention, they may become the target of bullying. According to Meyer-Adams ; Conner (2008), “Some of the things that make people different are generally neutral characteristics, but some like being smart, focused, or creative often representing attributes that the bully wishes they shared with their victim”. The goal behind their bullying behaviour is to eliminate the competition or find a way to possess the position or status their target has. As bullies become jealous and thus target their victims with an aim to eliminate another person’s success to make themselves better. They cannot tolerate the success of someone else because it makes them feel inferior.

The third cause of bullying is the urge for attention. Some people do not realise themselves as bullies. As Mishna (2004) asserts, “They think that all they are doing is teasing a bit, and may even be trying to communicate or even befriend the person they are bullying.” They keep intention to get the attention of their victims. They use of physical violence or insults to communicate since they are unable to communicate through decent ways of communication. The bullied are forced to become friends with the bullies to continued bullying. Since the victims are afraid of bullies, they had to follow bullies’s desire if not they will hurt.

Through this way, they achieve the intended purpose by getting the attention of their victims.  Last but not least, cause of bullying is the urge to be in control. When individuals bully others, they bury their fear in them and thus achieve control over them. This gives them power and an urge for more power leads to increased instances of bullying. As bullies, routine in this way will assumes the role a serial bully and enjoys doing it for more power. They bully just to gain strength and satisfy on what they had did to others.

They feel strong since the victims follow their summons. For example, if the bullies rich with money or has a high position, it is easy for them to control others who are weaker. In concusion, bullying is prohibitive and aggressive behavioural pattern among school-aged children that involves threatening, humiliation, teasing, and embarrassing in public and that has the potential to be repeated, over time. Besides, bullying is a very unpleasant phenomenon of everyday life, especially when it comes to children’s bullying. There are many reason that leads someone bullying others.

Also, bullying is most frequently the cause of a lot of the problems in the society and it is the most common cause of suicides in the whole world. This problem is also more frequent in children’s that are in school, because in all the schools are someone that likes to disturb or to make others feel bad.
